"I reached out to this agent with a reasonable request after repeatedly seeing his CTV ads, simply asking if there was any way to opt out of being targeted. I understand agents might not control ad placement, and I wasn’t upset about that. What was disappointing was the response: I was told to “close my eyes during the commercials.” As if removing a person who is not in the market for insurance was somehow offensive. As a marketer I know most CTV platforms can absolutely block individual households and IP addresses. However, regardless of advertising limitations, this is an unprofessional and dismissive way to speak to a potential or existing customer. If this is how basic inquiries are handled, I would think twice about how concerns are treated once you’re actually a client."
